Get A Perfect Lawn Now

A beautiful, perfect lawn greatly enhances the appearance of any property, adding curb appeal, value, and enjoyment to your home or business.  However, sometimes achieving a perfect lawn can be very difficult.  Having a thick lush lawn can take a lot of time and effort, and despite your best efforts, your lawn may be patchy, bare, or simply not as full and green as you would like it to be.  That’s where our professional resodding service comes in.  Our experienced landscaping team will work with you to transform your lawn from dull and patchy to lush and vibrant.  We also understand that every property is unique, and will take the time to understand your specific needs and preferences, and tailor our service to suit your property and budget.  Our resodding service is designed to provide you with a beautiful, long lasting lawn that is easy to maintain and will beautify the appearance of your property for years to come.  Here is our step by step process, and what is included with our sodding service:

measuring lawn for new sod

1: The first step to our professional re-sodding service is a site visit to your property, in order to do a full assessment of your lawn and to provide you with an accurate, free estimate of the job.  Unlike some of our more basic lawn care services, we always visit the property before creating your quote to ensure accuracy and to make sure you’re getting exactly what you want.  While there, we will establish if there’s any grading required, confirm with you on schedule and exact areas to be completed, and accurately measure square footage of the space to be sodded.  Also, if you’re looking for additional landscaping services, we can provide quotes for that as well.

2: Once the work begins, the first step is clearing the area of existing vegetation.  Using sod cutters and various tools, we will strip and remove all existing grass from the area, as well as skim off the top layer of soil to make space for new soil and sod.  Removed grass and soil will be removed using a clean fill dump bin or trailer, and removed from your property.  All removal and disposal costs are included in our pricing.

3: Once the area is cleared of all grass and weeds, we will prepare the soil for sod installation.  A standard part of our service is bringing in fresh, compost enriched topsoil to create a great base for the sod to sit on.  As we add new soil to the lawn, the overall drainage and structure of the soil will be improved.  Also, with the addition of new organic matter, the beneficial microorganisms will improve the soil biology allowing for a healthier lawn and a more successful sod installation.  Once the soil application is complete, we will finish grading and smooth out the soil before sod application.

4: Soil amendment:  Right before the sod is laid down, we will apply a sod starter fertilizer to the soil.  This fertilizer is specifically designed for new sod, and is much higher in phosphorus as opposed to a regular fertilizer which is higher in nitrogen.  The purpose of the additional phosphorus is to encourage healthier root development, which is the main focus after sod has been laid.  Also, if we think your lawn needs additional amendment for acidity, we will also apply a lime treatment to make the soil more alkaline, which is preferred for new sod.

5: Sod Installation: We use a premium Kentucky Bluegrass sod, freshly cut the day of installation.  Sod is laid down tightly and accurately, in a seamless pattern with the edges of the sod pieces butted up against on another, ensuring a perfect fit.  This will prevent seams or patches, giving you a beautiful, thick, lush lawn right away.

6: Overseeding:  This is a step commonly overlooked when it comes to sod installation, but is one of the best things that can be done to ensure long term success of your lawn.  New sod is composed primarily, if not entirely, of kentucky bluegrass.  And while this is a beautiful lush grass, like any other type of grass, it has it’s weaknesses.  Bluegrass is a very drought, heat, and traffic tolerant grass, but will sometimes not thrive in very shady or damp areas.  By overseeding your lawn with a healthy blend of fescue and ryegrass, we will be incorporating shade and moisture tolerant grass into your lawn.  This will give your new sod added longevity, as well as help in keeping your lawn low maintenance.

7: Watering and final inspection:  Once the job is complete, we will set up your sprinkler and do the first watering of the sod.  It is crucial to have the sod watered immediately after installation.  While watering, we will take the time to inspect the work, making sure none of the sod shifted or lifted during the application process.  We will also clean up the working area, making sure we dont leave you with a mess when we’re done.

8: Follow up:  Once everything is done, we will provide you with a detailed guide and schedule for watering and mowing your new sod to ensure it establishes properly.  The post-installation maintenance is just as important as the installation itself, and we want to make sure you get the lawn you’ve always wanted.  Additionally, we are always available by phone or email after the job is done, if you have any questions at all.  We pride ourselves in our amazing customer service, so don’t hesitate to call with any questions.
